Friends Aug. 18 Meeting Notes

1.      Treasurer’s Report – Ann Welsh:

Report reviewed in detail – Revenues, Expenditures, Current Account Balances and Allocated Expenditures.

 

2.      Season Kickoff scheduled Sept 12, 2009:

Practice/Kickoff/Team Skate planned: (10:30 AM Practice and12:00 PM Kickoff). J       

 

3.      Banner Update – Burt Matheny:

Friend’s banner has been ordered. Champion’s banners have come in under expected cost. Have ordered all 8 All American banners and will include second team.

 HE Wall plaques: All Academic - 2 (includes second team), All Rookie – 3 big plaques, Player and Rookie of the Year. Bert will make contact next week to get plaques mounted. The National Team wall will also have 2 plaques. A motion was made and approved to have two old NCAA banners updated. Bert will send proofs to Brian for final approval and ordering. Gerry is working on getting National team photos. He showed the All-American photo that he has for Kacey B. Motion made and approved for the cost. A presentation is planned.

 

4.      Merchandise – Cindy Horvath:

Skating Strides T Shirt logo options presented and ballot circulated for selecting the SS cancer slogan.  A merchandise sale is planned for the season kickoff to turn over older inventory. A suggestion was also made to investigate whether we can hold a sale at Fenway and if we needed permission from HE. Deb will email Dan about this.

 

Cindy has suggested that the inventory be expanded to include non-apparel items. Bags and stadium blankets will be ordered. Donna also indicated that we will have Cat Heads and Paws magnets and stickers for sale. Cindy will send Deb the cost estimate of the new merchandise and then a vote to approve expenditures will be made via email to expedite turn around time.

 

5.      Membership – Brenda Mullaney:

Deb, Gerry/ Kim discussed Scott working on eVite. Membership initiative in next 2 weeks – Events. Link membership list to eVite for first set up. Kim will be the membership point person. Scott and Kim to work on eVite site for membership renewal.

 

6.      Alternative Fundraisers – Scott Gower:

Scott presented two fundraiser options- Dining for Dollars and a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s for a Saturday morning.

 

7.      Coach McCloskey:  There will be a press release on Thursday at Fenway. Phil indicated that he plans to have “This week in Women’s Hockey” at Fenway as well.
